NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS APPOINTS MARK R. SPERDUTO VICE PRESIDENT – REGULATORY AFFAIRS
02/24/2005 - For Immediate ReleaseWALL, N.J. – New Jersey Natural Gas, the principal subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), today announced the appointment of Mark R. Sperduto as vice president – regulatory affairs, effective March 14, 2005. Since 2002, Mr. Sperduto has served as director – corporate issues for Newark, N.J.-based Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), one of the largest combined electric and gas companies in the United States.
“We’re pleased Mark will be joining our team,” said Laurence M. Downes, chairman and CEO of NJNG. “His extensive public utility experience will greatly benefit our ongoing work with regulators as a provider of a lifeline service in our state,” Mr. Downes said.
Mr. Sperduto began his career with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU), where he rose to bureau chief for revenue requirements and finance. In 1991, Mr. Sperduto was treasury administrator for Orange and Rockland Utilities before joining PSE&G.
A 1980 graduate of Seton Hall University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Mr. Sperduto received an MBA from Rutgers in 1992. He resides in Brick, N.J.
