ASBURY PARK, N.J. – Beginning today, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) will host representatives from Tax Counselors for the Elderly (TCE) at its Asbury Park business office. Every year, the utility company provides space for representatives from TCE who offer free assistance to taxpayers who need, but cannot afford, help with the preparation of relatively simple U.S. income tax returns.

This year, those needing assistance can go to NJNG’s new business office, located at 633 Lake Avenue. Visitors can also access an entrance at 658 Cookman Avenue.

For the past two years, NJNG’s Asbury Park business office drew more visitors looking for help with their income taxes than any other location of its kind throughout the state. The American Association of Retired Persons, who facilitates the TCE program, showed its gratitude to NJNG for this achievement and the company continued support of the tax assistance program.

TCE volunteers will be available every Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until April 13 to provide help to any residents who may need it. Visitors can also find out if they are eligible to claim a Federal or State Earned Income Tax Credit.
